In March 2006 I found myself really missing those humble, occassional IHD comics on my Friends page. They made crappy days better, ordinary things funny, and the simple dialog has been the source of running jokes within my circle of friends and beyond ever since IHD came about. There was always something to laugh about.

The comics stopped in October last year for the artist's sake. I feel silly looking back on it, but I actually shed a tear or two when I heard the news. No more IHD comics anytime soon. Perhaps never again. I remember that day felt especially crappy.

Many moons passed, and I found myself wishing for those cute little potato people again. I found the IHD fan community and it was tired and slow. I noticed there were still people like me who missed the comics. However, though many tried and many wished, no one seemed to be able to replicate the IHD comics. So one day, I decided to do something... stupid.

Behold, fancomics. One of the most important features of an IHD comic is the unique "potato people" style. You simply can't have IHD without it. Thus I mimicked it. To a tee, for the most part. The plan was, if all went well, I would keep up the comic's old schedule (1 comic every 2-5 days) and as time wore on, I would gently lose the iconic IHD style in favor of my own. As said, it's generally accepted that you can't have IHD without it's potato style, so it's not like I could've dropped my own style on everyone right off. I was interested in working with other people's scripts so that it could be more of a community effort. I was not trying to -BE- the IHD artist. These are FANcomics. I really just.. I really wanted to bring it back to life. I wanted to see that kindly humor flow again. It brightened so many people's days and it was such a shame to see it die so suddenly.

But this was not to be. I was contacted by the IHD artist herself, whom I long believed gone from the internet, and was kindly asked to stop the IHD comics. I was really disheartened by this request. I tried to toss up hybrid styles, spinoffs, structure ideas, anything to keep the project alive. No.. IHD really isn't coming back. It really is dead - beyond our resurrection essentially. I understood why she asked me to stop, but that didn't make me feel any better. She kept suggesting I do my own style. IHD in my own style is not IHD. It would take a LONG time for IHD to hybridize into my style, and I was hoping to have that long time to experiment. Denied.

My Grievous comic style is complex and very time consuming. I could never do a daily/weekly series like that. Disappointed, frustrated, and stricken with an angry "I'll show YOU!" attitude, I rapidly began developing my own "simple style." It took me a while, but I now believe I have something I can work with. Later in the summer when I have more resolve, I want to introduce to you my own breed of simple, consistent SW comics. They will not look like my Grievous comics but they will surely feature him sometimes, and will feature a great multitude of your favorites from a galaxy far, far away. You're already familiar with my sense of humor and expression. X3 In the end I suppose I should thank the IHD girl. I was spurned to rapidize my style's evolution and I kinda like where it's gone.

Till then, this is all I've got to show. Should the IHD artist request it in the future, I will take this off my gallery. For now it is up for your enjoyment and for your info. All 3 were drawn by me, and the last one with Boga was scripted by ladyDchaos from the fan community. These are all shown at their original size with their corresponding commentary from when they were posted.
